We had been to Turkey once before
and really liked it. It wasn't until speaking to my Sister
that we decided to try Calis Beach. She spoke so highly of
the Caretta Apartments that they stayed in, that we felt we
must give them a try, but we were not prepared for the warm
friendly atmosphere that greeted us on our arrival.
Little did we know our first night would
be full of drama ending up in the Casualty Department of
the local Hospital. The night security man at the Apartments
was brilliant eventually locating an ambulance for us. To
cut a long story short, a subsequent visit to a Urologist
organised by Dr John resulted in a diagnosis of a kidney
stone, this was eventually passed some 10 days later, but
the care and concern of Dr John his family and staff could
not be measured. In thanking Dr John his usual reply was "no trouble you are part of the
Believe us, that is true everyone is treated as part of the
family unit and many seem to come back time after time as my
Sister and Husband does twice a year and we will definitely
be back next year.
Mary (Dr Johns Wife) returned in our second week after visiting
family, followed by Cem (one of their sons) home from his studies
and they, plus each and every one of the staff make sure
that your holiday is special.
Trips to a very pretty beach
(Katranci) and an evening trip to the ghost town were organised
at short notice by Dr John and these were magical along with
a special evening at Caretta with a meal, bingo and dancing.
As we said before nothing is too much trouble.
We can't wait to go back next year and once again be part
of a family and meet up with friends we made whilst there.
We wouldn't miss it for the world.

My husband and I have been going to Calis for about 14 years but have always stayed in a small hotel as we prefer the personal touch rather than being just a room number. The hotel then closed so we looked for an alternative, friends had stayed at Caretta and gave it a good name so we thought we would try it. Wow!! if you want the personal touch you get it from all members of staff, the owner Dr John and his wife and family and even down to the dogs Cookie and Lady. You are made to feel so special you are not guests but friends and nothing is too much trouble. If you want to go somewhere on an excursion, boat trip, horse riding, turkish bath just ask and your wish is Dr John's command. I can only stress you holiday starts once you get off the plane and are picked up by Duran and taken to Caretta. Everyone is so sad when they have to leave to go home, hence people return year after year which is what we do. We would not give up the holiday at Caretta for anyone or anything.
